Waiting To Rock

The interwebs, myself included, are on our mats and facing the holy northern California city where today, Steve Jobs will take the stage and unveil at least part of the company’s product lineup for the holiday shopping season.

What goodies can we expect? Most agree that a new iPod Nano will be unveiled that integrates more of the touch-screen and video options found on the iPhone and Touch. People are also buzzing about a new iTunes, which could include more HD content and some sort of automatic playlist generator to match up songs that go well together.

Whatever the new products are, I’m sure I’ll want them. I’ll let you know what the news from Cali is as soon as I find out.

Just In Case You Live Under A Rock…

Yesterday, Apple unveiled the new iPhone 3G, which will go on sale July 11th.
This new edition will run on a 3G, or third-generation, network that will allow for much zippier Internet browsing (that’s good news for you Turkey). In addition to the faster speeds, the new model also comes with built-in GPS, longer battery life (10 hours of talk time on 2G networks and 5 hours using 3G), support for Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync, new downloadable applications available through iTunes, and a flush headphone jack.

The iPhone 3G also sports a new (and slightly thinner) glossy case in black or white, however, if you want white, you will have to step up to the 16GB model.
You might think that all of these new goodies packed into a slimmer phone would mean a higher price but you would be wrong. The 3G iPhone will retail for $199 for the 8GB model and $299 for the 16GB.

I think I may have just discovered what to blow my Bush check on.

Super Happy Terrific Products: iPod Touch

Apple just unveiled the new iPod – the iPod Touch, and I want one!

It basically does everything the iPhone does without the phone part. Also, it accesses the interwebs via a WiFi connection rather than cellular service like the iPhone or crackberry. There is an 8gb and 16 gb model with prices starting at 299, which considering all it does, doesn’t sound that bad.

Super Happy Terrific Products

Judging by the picture this Mac-Tap is just a trade show gimmick but it’s still nice to dream. I guess if you are handy and have an old Mac, you could make one of these yourself but that sounds like an awful lot of trouble for something you are going to quickly have to dispose of.
