Summer Hours

Gone-Fishing-Posters
I hope everyone had a great holiday weekend filled with fun, friends and family. My birthday was on Saturday so it was an extra special weekend of celebrating with friends at the house, which included my family members from all over the country beaming in via Skype.

Its always hard to get back to your weekday schedule after a long weekend but the best part about Memorial Day is that it’s the kick-off to the summer season, which I like to think of as the hot holidays. From now until Labor day, people are taking vacations and staycations, dressing more casually at work, leaving the office early on Fridays and generally trying to find more time to relax and goof off, which we all deserve. You don’t need an official banking holiday to invite people over for a BBQ and just think of a cold beer on a hot day as the egg-nog of summer. If you haven’t already done so, its time to take down those icicle lights still dangling from your gutters or fire-escape and put up something patriotic like a flag.

I’ll be here all summer long, although I’m going to try to spend a little less time on the interwebs than usual. No matter what you do and where you go this summer, just try to take some time to relax, chill out, and have fun!

I think that’s a good idea for everyone…less time on the interwebs! More time in the real world.

Great posting! I hope to share a summer egg-nog with during Summer ’09!

Glad to hear it was a good opening weekend.

Cokane – definitely. Although I have to admit, it’s going to be hard for me to avoid Skyping which is my new online obsession.

Wendy – We are planning a June PA road trip!

Lovely post. I’m so happy I got to be a part of the “Birthday/Memorial Weekend 2009″. Cheers to that fun and friend filled Summer!

  5. Happy birthday! You didn’t reveal your age. I tried to stay away from the internet once. It didn’t work out so well. I missed it.
