Yesterday was the first time I have ever watched a President’s Inauguration. It was also the first time a president that I voted for was elected. I had no idea of all the ceremony’s, traditions, balls and parades that were involved in signing in the president. The first family must be exhausted today but that hasn’t stopped President Obama from getting up at the crack of dawn and right to work.
Speaking of tired, for everyone worried about Senator Ted Kennedy (who was taken from the Inaugural lunch to the hospital in an ambulance yesterday) I heard he has been released and is expected back to work soon.
In watching recaps of the days events at the Capital building and a special History channel tour of the White House, I may have found a solution to our current economic woes. Just melt down all the gold in these two buildings and use it to pay off our National debt. The money the country can save by not having to make those monthly payments can then be used to hire out-of-work Americans to repair our crumbling bridges and roads, convert all federal and state buildings to solar, wind, and geothermal power and give every American a little extra something to pad their pockets with.
I think Nipsey Russell said it best in 1974 when he said, “To slow down this recession and make our economy thrive, give us our social security now and we’ll go to work when we’re 65.”
i like your gold solution. you should call barack and suggest it to him.
OMG! Good idea! Start sending a letter with that suggestion to the White House every day until they do it.
You’re brilliant… and not just because you’ve solved the economic crisis.
Did Nipsy Russell say that on an episode of Match Game, the funniest game show of all time? I think I recently saw that one on GameShowNetwork.
Great choice!
Hey TFKoP, Yes! I saw the same episode of Match Game recently.
